Orange Classic International Girls Soccer Tournament
December 28 - 30, 2011
Fort Lauderdale, FL
U14 Bracket:
Our '98s were exciting and fun to watch the entire tournament. Each game was close and drama filled with the ebb and flow shifting with the breezes.
The only blip occurred in the Final where a rematch of a draw from group play saw the advantage shift ever so slightly to the opposition, giving them the result.
Congratulations to one and all on a most successful run.
High School Showcase Bracket:
With a large number of coaches in attendance, enjoying the warm sunshine, our showcase team showed well and made a good impression. There were no other hiccups other than getting edged out in the last game, on the third day. Though the scoreline won't reflect it, the team was really unlucky not drawing the game - missed a penalty. And, had any number of the close encounters been converted in the closing minutes, another victory would very easily have been realized.
Overall, our level of play was good and every player got the opportunity to get on the college coaches' radar. And based on the tournament's point system, the girls finished quarter-finalists. Kudos to one and all.
